It is wonderful to welcome many new students into our courses and subjects and also new staff into our school in 2010. If you are a new student joining us or someone thinking about taking up an offer, I can suggest that you will havean interersting and well supported experience here at Charles Sturt University and in the Murray School of Education.
This year we have a number of projects underway or commencing and these include teaching and learning initiatives, research projects and community engagement activities.
For example our students will make use of the new state of the art teaching facilities in the Teaching and Learning Hub. These provide very comfortable and appropriate learning spaces for our students and excellent technology for our teaching staff.
The Learning Commons (library) opened in 2009 is also an excellent facility and the 24 hour zone means students have access at anytime in case they need flexibility in their study arrangements.
In 2010 work will commence on the new Children's Centre and this is an exciting project that will mean the Murray Children's Centre will relocate to the Thurgoona site. We hope to keep visitors to this web site up to date withdevelopments in this project throughout the year.
The MSE welcomes Angela Fenton, Nikki Masters and Wendy Goff to the School as academics and Katherine Hopps as a full time PhD student. We are also delighted to welcome Tuija Turunen as a post doctoral fellow. Tuija joins us from the University of Lapland (Finland) and will be with us for the next three years.
Thank you for visiting the MSE web page and please take a moment to explore the introductions from course coordinators Dr Richard Taffe (EC and Primary) and Dr Sally Knipe (K-12 Middle Schooling)
We look forward to sharing our news with you during 2010.

More than 150 students have graduated from our Bachelor of Education (Middle Schooling K - 12). All our graduates are successfully securing positions across a wide range of educational settings. These are professionals who are committed to providing high quality care and education for children from birth to Year 12.
In 2009, the School offers several four-year undergraduate courses, to meet the educational needs of young children and adolescents.
