Through four faculties, CSU delivers more than 300 courses to nearly 40,000 on–campus and distance education students throughout Australia and overseas.
CSU's Faculty of Education brings over fifty years experience in the delivery of teacher education programs. The core business of the Faculty is the design and implementation of teacher education programs with particular expertise in elementary education. One hundred qualified staff deliver programs from certificate to doctoral level in areas such as Early Childhood, Elementary Education, Secondary Education, Special Education, Vocational Education and Training, Technology and Applied Studies, Teacher Librarianship, Human Movement, and English as a Second Language.
For many years Ontario students have travelled to the main campuses of CSU in Australia to complete their Faculty of Education program and have returned as certified Ontario teachers. Some of these students now teach in schools in Halton and surrounding areas. Many Ontario teachers and administrators are also currently completing Masters and Doctoral programs in education through CSU's Distance Education program. This program is offered under the written consent of the Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities for the period from 24 th December 2004 to 24 th December 2009 . Prospective students are responsible for satisfying themselves that the program and the degree will be appropriate to their needs (e.g., acceptable to potential employers, professional licensing bodies or other educational institutions).
