Police Record Check

To be able to undertake the Bachelor of Primary Education Studies program, and successfully complete the practicum component in the schools, you are required by law to have a satisfactory Police Record Check prior to having direct contact with students and other vulnerable persons.

To obtain the necessary information and request a Police Record Check, go to the Ontario Education Services Corporation (OESC) website at http://www.oesc-cseo.org/English/about.html

READ the information regarding Police Record Check services, and how to apply.  Click on the link for a College or University Student who needs an OESC ID Card for a placement in a school or other agency. READ the instructions carefully and download the relevant Consent & Payment forms.

Complete the Consent & Payment forms immediately and send them with your payment to the OESC in Toronto, as instructed on the forms.  The cost associated with this service & any appeals are to be borne by the applicant.

If your Police Record Check is satisfactory you will be issued with a wallet-sized Identification Card, allowing you to be placed in schools for the purpose of practicum.

You must provide a photocopy of the OESC Identification Card to the University by August 1, 2008.  Fax to the Ontario campus on 905 333 6562.

NOTE: you cannot attend your school placement until confirmation of a satisfactory Police Record Check has been received.
