Student Testimonials

Lisa Ardito-Wright, 36

Lisa Ardito-Wright“I was impressed by the information provided on the CSU Ontario web site – but what really moved me was the Orientation held for prospective candidates. There was a remarkable sense of camaraderie and community support, combined with a genuine passion for teaching. I knew that both of these credentials were important to my own philosophy and wanted a chance to become part of this impressive community.”

Rob Finlay, 39

Rob Finlay“Attending the Bachelor of Primary Education program on CSU’s Ontario Campus begins a major career change for me from Chartered Accountant to elementary school teacher. My decision to enrol at CSU was based mainly on the outstanding reputation of the program.”

Roland McDougall, 28

Roland McDougall“My strongest memory of my time at CSU so far is the enthusiasm and diligence of my fellow students. I have never for one second felt like I was alone in my journey to become an elementary educator.”

Stephanie Kuczerepa, 27

Stephanie Kuczerepa“I am not the only one in my family to have walked the halls of CSU Ontario. My younger sister and my best friend both attended the University in 2007-2008. I have watched as the support of them from CSU has continued beyond the student teacher year and has extended into their graduate careers.”

Sue Worley, 45

Sue Worley“The Bachelor of Education program at CSU provides leading-edge academic thinking on education as well as practical, grounded teaching experience. In talking with friends in other teacher education programs, I know CSU is more academically rigorous and demanding, but worth the challenge. As a mature student launching a second career, I wanted a program that would be a meaningful investment of my time and money. I wanted more than just a teaching certificate. I want to excel at teaching.”

Jenny Gorges, 26

Jenny Gorges“I chose this course because my interest has always been in teaching primary children and this added to my Early Childhood Education Diploma will give me a well round background for teaching in this age group. I have learned many new teaching strategies that have been very helpful in my practicum placement. I have developed a more International perspective on education. Having the opportunity to work in groups and complete assignments has helped me to be a better team player.”

Sue Wilson, 43

Sue Wilson“The faculty at CSU are innovative, experienced, educators who understand what is required in today’s classrooms. The entire CSU staff is accessible, approachable and supportive. I have enjoyed a positive, comprehensive, inclusive university experience at CSU.”

Kevin Foster, 35

Kevin Foster“The course has opened my eyes to the possibility of many careers paths in the education field. I have improved my time-management and communication skills dramatically. Working in and relying on a team is crucial to becoming a teacher, and CSU provides many opportunities to hone those skills. The practicum experience has allowed me to take on the teaching role and develop key skills in a real-life environment with real-life learners.”
