Rural and Overseas Placement Information
Rural Placements
Undertaking a placement in a rural setting offers many opportunities for teacher education students. You will certainly get the chance to experience soemthing new, especially if you come from a large metropolitan or even large regional centre, not only in terms of the location itself, but also significant engagement with the whole school and its community. As you are aware, there are significant employment incentives for teaching in a rural and remote school. Undertaking your professional placement in such a location will provide you will essential knowledge, skills and understanding that will be invaluable if you accept an appointment.
Many state governments, as well as CSU, offer incentives for preservice teachers to undertake rural placements. See the CSU, Queensland and Victoria links below. NSW information can be found on the Funding for Placements section of this web site.
Try it - you will enjoy it!
