The inaugural Centre for Studies in Teacher Librarianship Research Conference was held at the Australian National University in Canberra on 9-10 April 2005. The purpose of the conference was to provide an opportunity for practitioners and researchers to meet and discuss teacher librarianship research in order to raise its profile, build a community of research practice and lay the groundwork for ongoing research conversations. The importance of a national research discussion has been emphasised in the recent publication Impact of School Libraries on Student Achievement: a Review of the Research by Michele Lonsdale, Australian Council for Educational Research, for the Australian School Library Association.
All papers, with the exception of those authored by Dr Susan La Marca and Dr Susan Boyce, have been double-blind refereed.
