The School also has a large number of research students, most of whom are enrolled in our PhD program. Information about the School’s Ethics Committee is also available for current students.

Centres and Groups
The Faculty of Education’s Research Priority Area, ‘Information Studies’, represents most of the research undertaken in the School. Specific projects funded by the Faculty in this RPA include:
- Investigating the news seeking behavior of young adults (2009 and 2010)
- The development and implementation of a learning centre in Second Life (2009)
- From school to work and from work to school: information environments and transferring information literacy practices (2009)
- Information, social exclusion and informed participation: Exploring the information literacy practices of settlers (2010)
- The actual importance of RDA elements in supporting key user tasks (2010)
Researchers in the School also collaborate with a number of other centres and groups, both within and outside of CSU. For instance, the School is a partner, with Monash University’s School of Information Management & Systems, in ITNR (Information and Telecommunications Needs Research), a research and consultancy unit that explores and analyses how people use information, telecommunications and new media.
