Research
Jake's research makes use of combinations of web crawling, social network analysis, data visualisation and online content analysis to explore the democratic potential afforded by digital space and interactive technologies. Jake is currently undertaking a study of the .au web domain as virtual public sphere; investigating the presence and activity of civil society organizations around specific social and political issues. The study examines the interconnection of organizations around these issues as well as the technologies that are used to facilitate engagement, interaction and both online and offline political participation.
