Bio
Jinghe (pronounced “Jing-her”) Han is lecturing in English Language and Literacy Education at School of Teacher Education, Charles Sturt University. She is currently engaged in teaching about language as a social practice and the teaching of English to speakers of other languages.
Jinghe's research interests include a study of the retention of ‘World English Speaking’ student-teachers – a cultural studies perspective on teacher shortages in the context of the mobility of trans-national knowledge workers. Her recent publications have reported the results of a study re-imagining English teaching; a study of the quality and impact of education research; an exploration of the mobility of trans-national knowledge workers such as teachers; global English and the loss of language communities, and vocational education. In 2006 she was the elected post-graduate student representative on the Executive of the Australian Association for Research in Education, and a member of the Comparative and International Education Society. Previously, she worked at the University of Western Sydney and Jilin University, Changchun (P. R. China).
