Bio
Ninetta Santoro was appointed to the position of Associate Professor of Education and the Head of the School of Teacher Education at Charles Sturt University in September 2008. She has extensive experience as a teacher educator, having previously held a position at Deakin University, Melbourne for 12 years. Prior to this she worked as an English and English as a Second Language teacher in Victorian secondary schools and in adult settings including TAFE and Adult Migrant Education Service.
Her research interests lie in post-structuralist theories of practice, teacher identity, teacher education and multicultural education across both secondary school and adult contexts. Ninetta has secured a number of competitive research grants including ARC grants and commissioned research grants that have investigated the experiences of overseas-born and educated non-native English-speaking teachers, Indigenous teachers, pedagogies for culturally and linguistically diverse schooling contexts and language education. She has published in the areas of classroom practice, teacher education, language education and research methodology. She is co-editor of the Asia Pacific Journal of Teacher Education.
