Bio
Denise Wood began her career in Early Childhood settings in Moree NSW, before taking up the position of teacher in an Opportunity Class in Mudgee. Her teaching practice encompasses a span of 24 years and includes team teaching young children, primary school children and adults in TAFE. Her interests focus on gifted education but also include the teaching of creative and higher order thinking in classrooms, professional learnig for teachers and classroom management. She now teaches in these areas in the Bachelor of Education (Primary).
Research
- currently undertaking doctoral studies. Thesis working title: Beauty or Brains?The Impact of Popular Culture on Rural Gifted Girls' Talent Development.

- Consultant to Catholic Education Office Bathurst, providing professional learning around gifted education, differentiation, classroom practice.
- AGQTP Academic Partner: 2006 - MIddle Schools; 2007: differentiating in secondary classrooms, 2008-2009: supporting facilitators of the Regional Virtual Opportunity Class
- provider of professional learning in schools across the Western Region, focusing on differentiation, gifted education and identification and provision.
