WAGGA WAGGA ASTHMA REGISTER
Wagga Wagga and district is prone to spring-time thunderstorm-triggered asthma associated with elevated levels of airborne grass-pollens in conjunction with pending thunderstorm activity. During these conditions modifying daily activity patterns, such as staying indoors and reducing physical activity, may significantly decrease the likelihood of an asthma event. It is also important to ensure that appropriate medications are taken as prescribed and in particular, that reliever medication is immediately available at all times.
To help alert asthmatics and health professionals of an increased risk of thunderstorm-triggered asthma, Charles Sturt University and the Wagga Asthma Collaborative Committee of Health Professionals have established this web-page where you can register to be notified by email and/or mobile phone SMS on days with the appropriate high-risk conditions. These alerts typically only occur on a handful of days in Spring each year.
To receive notifications you will need to register. You do not have to provide any personal information other than your email address and/or mobile phone number. These contacts will not be used to distribute any advertising or spam messages.
