The Bachelor of Clinical Practice (Paramedic) has been developed in consultation with ambulance industry representatives from NSW and other states and territories.
Graduate opportunities exist with ambulance services throughout Australia, with the Defence Forces as medics and with overseas paramedical organisations.
School leavers can apply for entry and selection is based on their UAI score and responses to a Pre Hospital Care questionnaire. Assumed knowledge for this course includes any two units of English. Chemistry and Biology are recommended studies.
Students spend up to four hours per week practicising their clinical skills in a simulated paramedic environment.
Clinical Placements in appropriate healthcare settings are undertaken as internal students are placed with an ambulance service for six weeks during the course. Distance education students conduct Clinical Placements in hospitals and are supervised in the Emergency Department and Theatres.
