Allied Health Clinic
Charles Sturt University provides a commitment to excellence in allied health professions in regional Australia.
The CSU Allied Health Clinic in Albury was officially opened on Wednesday 19 February 2003 by the University’s new Chancellor, Laurie Willett, AO, with the Vice-Chancellor Professor Ian Goulter and other senior CSU staff also attending.
The clinic is an important part of the education provided to CSU’s podiatry students based at the Albury-Wodonga Campus.
Clinic staff offer comprehensive podiatric services, with senior students closely supervised by qualified, experienced professional staff.
By training regional and metropolitan students in a major regional centre such as Albury,
CSU is able to encourage graduates to remain in regional Australia, serving the communities that they already know.
The modern clinic, housed in the historic Adams Building on the University’s Albury City Campus, includes ten consultation rooms, a surgical room, sterilisation room and a gait analysis area, as well as the latest computerised booking systems.
With approximately 70 per cent of graduates from the School of Community Health working in regional Australia, the clinic is able to provide the training facilities to better serve these communities.
At present the clinic provides podiatric services, however the School of Community Health intends to provide other services including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, nursing and healthy lifestyle education through the clinic.
