Clinical education is an integral and compulsory component of undertaking a health degree at Charles Sturt University. We believe that successful professional practice is the result of integration of theory and clinical experience, where students achieve high levels of clinical reasoning and skills ideally suited for current health and community contexts. We provide clinical education opportunities that prepare students for working in a wide range of environments, with emphasis on meeting the needs of regional, rural and remote communities.
Students undertake placements of varying duration throughout all years of their course. The successful completion of the degree programs at CSU typically require 1000 hours of clinical placement to be completed. These placements are undertaken in health care facilities, CSU's allied health clinic, and community settings such as schools. Students will undertake placements locally in the Albury-Wodonga region and throughout New South Wales and Victoria. In addition some students will have the opportunity to undertaken aspects of their clinical education in other states and overseas.
