Anna O'Callaghan is a lecturer of speech pathology in the School of Community Health at Charles Sturt University (CSU), Australia. She is a member of both the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and Speech Pathology Australia.
Dr O'Callaghan teaches in the areas of communication, disability and neurological impairment. Her teaching covers the causes, effects, assessment and therapeutic options available to speech and language practitioners in relation to professional engagement with adults who have communication difficulties following neurological insult (such as stroke, acquired brain injury, dementia, progressive neurological diseases and other conditions). Dr O'Callaghan also teaches issues and syntheses in speech pathology.
Dr O'Callaghan's research focuses on communication impairments following acquired brain injury. She also researches clinical care guidelines in adult rehabilitation, innovation in service delivery and rural health.
Dr O'Callaghan is employed jointly by the School of Community Health, Charles Sturt University and Albury Hospital, Albury Wodonga Health.
