Jillian Dunphy is a lecturer and subject co–ordinator who teaches human bioscience and physiology. She completed her PhD in molecular endocrinology at Prince Henry's Institute of Medical Research, through the Medicine Department of Monash University, in 1998. During her time at Monash University Jillian demonstrated genetics to both undergraduate and post–graduate students.

Jillian's first post–doctoral research position was at the University of Melbourne where she studied allergic–type immune reactions. To further develop her research interests Jillian then worked as a research associate at the Cell Biology Department of the University of Virginia (2001–2005). Here she gained invaluable cell biology experience. Upon returning to Australia in 2005, Jillian became a research officer, post–graduate student co–supervisor, and sessional lecturer at the University of Queensland. Whilst at the University of Queensland she studied a protein involved in mRNA trafficking in neurons.

Jillian took up her current lecturing position at CSU in 2006. Her current research interests include the function of a family of carbohydrate–binding proteins called galectins. In particular, using molecular and cell biology techniques Jillian plans to investigate the possible role of galectins in immunology, and in muscle development and regeneration.
