Tracey Parnell is a specialist tutor in occupational therapy. Tracey graduated from La Trobe University in 1991 and completed a Master of Occupational Therapy at the University of South Australia in 2000.

Tracey joined CSU permanently in 2009 after casual involvement with the course from 1999. Prior to working at CSU, Tracey worked as an occupational therapist in the area of adult rehabilitation (predominantly neurological and occupational/vocational rehabilitation), including work in community-based settings, rehabilitation units, and acute hospital environments.  Tracey continues to be involved in clinical practice providing occupational therapy services to a local occupational rehabilitation provider.

Tracey is currently a PhD candidate with CSU and is researching women’s experiences of career decision-making after having children.

Teaching

Tracey was a member of the staff committee involved in the development of Bachelor of Health and Rehabilitation Science.

Research

Tracey has a particular interest in the following areas of research:

  • Human occupation, including the relationship between occupation and health, and occupation and identity.
  • Work: the meaning of work.
  • Occupational roles and transitions throughout the lifespan.
