Kerstin commenced at CSU in 2010 with the expansion of the Physiotherapy program to the Orange campus

Kerstin graduated from the University of Sydney and has worked clinically in private and public sectors as senior clinician in the musculo-skeletal, neurological rehabilitation and orthopaedic areas of physiotherapy  within  rural and metropolitan areas in Australian and the UK. Kerstin has also worked as a clinical educator supervising undergraduate physiotherapy students and was a physiotherapist at the 2000 Olympics and Para-Olympics.

Kerstin completed her Masters in Physiotherapy from Melbourne University, in 2010 which included the Post Graduate Certificate in Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy.

Teaching

Kerstin commenced in 2010 with the introduction of the new physiotherapy curriculum and the problem based learning format (PBL).

Kerstin has been very involved in subject content development including  innovative and authentic case development and linking lectures   PBL cases and practical classes  to enhance continuity of subject content. Kerstin has also developed authentic assessment tasks and modulated practical assessmnts across campuses.

Innovations in Teaching
  • Problem based learning -  Authentic real life cases introduced in the first, second third years subjects intergrating clinical areas of physiotherapy with scaffolded development of clinical reasoning skills.
  • Facilitation of PBL tutorials.
  • Cross campus assement processes enhancing authentic and consistent assessment processes.
  • Modulation of assessment in practical and written tasks across campuses

    • Education advisory sub committee - Auditor. This role includes reviewing and recommending changes to post graduate courses conducted by the APA at a national level. Australian Physiotherapy Council - Clinical Assessor.
  • SARRAH and Rural Outreach Fund - Physiotherapy network coordinator and member of advisory committee (Australia wide). Involves establishing models of care and guidelines for allied health practice
  • Member of Rural Health Outreach Program - Maternity services (MSOAP-MS) and Advisory forum.Involves providing guidelines for Physiotherapy and allied health practice and approving funding for projects (NSW Health).
