Purebred Connemara Pony Stallion
Charles Sturt University is pleased to announce the arrival of our new stallion, Glenormiston Celtic Pride. He has settled in well to his new residence at the CSU Equine Centre, Wagga Wagga.
Pride is a purebred Class 1 Connemara pony, born in 2006 and bred by Barton & Sue Clarke of Glenormiston Stud in QLD.
His sire is Domo Cavallo Praize, one of the most successful Connemara ponies in Australia, never beaten at a Royal Show. Praize evented in open competition, being unplaced only once over a 10 year EFA eventing career. He competed successfully in harness and in EFA show jumping and dressage competitions - against horses of all heights - as well as winning the overall championship under saddle for all breeds at the Stud Pony Show in Queensland. With his impeccable temperament and amazing ability he became a legend in Queensland and indeed in Australia.
Glenormiston Celtic Pride's dam, Glenormiston Dulcinea, is by the Irish imported stallion Abbeyleix Finbar and out of Danish import Oxenholm Dulcinea giving Pride impeccable performance bloodlines. Glenormiston Celtic Pride is a personable young stallion standing at 14.1 1/2 hh and is bred to jump.
Glenormiston Celtic Pride will join CSU's herd of teaching horses where Equine Science and Veterinary Science students will be involved in all aspects of horse husbandry, stallion management and of course equine reproduction - both natural and artificial.
Pride also has an important role in CSU's breeding program and will stand his first stud season this year. For enquiries about breeding your mare to Glenormiston Celtic Pride, please call Jacqui Price in the CSU Equine Centre Office on (02) 6933 2323.
