The School of Nursing, Midwifery and Indigenous Health offer a wide range of health courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level with a strong base in Nursing. CSU is a leader in health care education with most students gaining employment within the first six months after completion of their course.

Postgraduate Courses

  • The Graduate Certificate in Clinical Education is is designed to bridge the gap between the academic literature and the day-to-day needs of health professionals interested in setting up and participating in clinical education programs.
  • The Postgraduate Certificate in Nursing Education aims to enhance the professional development of Registered Nurses who have recognised a need to gain further knowledge and skills in the discipline of education.
  • The Postgraduate Certificate in Mental Health Nursing aims to prepare Registered Nurses to practise in a variety of rural and remote settings to meet the mental health needs of a diversity of clients.
  • The Postgraduate Certificate in Chronic Care Nursing Practice aims to prepare Registered Nurses (RN) to meet the health needs of people with chronic and complex conditions.
  • The Master of Nursing provides Registered Nurses with an opportunity to build on their undergraduate learning, extend their clinical focus and develop research related skills. Students may tailor their study to suit particular areas of interest and experience, by electing from four areas of specialisation: Rural Nursing, Management, Nursing Education and Mental Health Nursing. On completion of the first 64 points of study (including credit), students may exit the program with a Postgraduate Diploma in the area of specialisation.
  • The Postgraduate Diploma in Midwifery combines theory and practice in a hands-on one-year distance education course aimed at allowing Registered Nurses in all midwifery settings (both rural and urban) to remain in their environment, while achieving their midwifery qualification.
  • The Master of Midwifery prepares graduates for leadership roles in their profession.
