International Applicants
A limited number of international students will be accepted on a full fee paying basis in 2010 and thereafter.
To gain entry to the Bachelor of Veterinary Science/Bachelor of Veterinary Biology course, international applicants are required to:
- Demonstrate a high level of academic ability through previous studies
- Demonstrate an interest in, and commitment to, rural communities, veterinary science and animal production
- Demonstrate an understanding of the unique ethical and practical issues that confront veterinarians involved with rural veterinary practice and animal production
- Demonstrate the capacity to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Have completed the International Language Testing System (IELTS), or other government approved language test) with an average score overall of 7 or better with a minimum of 7 in any one section, undertaken within the last 2 years OR have completed formal education in an English speaking country.
The cost of the course is $36,000 per annum. Allowance must also be made for additional costs such as accommodation, books, protective clothing (laboratory coat, overalls, boots),and travel to veterinary practices to complete the required work placements during the course.
Application to the Bachelor of Veterinary Science/Bachelor of Veterinary Biology course involves a number of steps:
- Apply online formally to determine your academic eligibility through the Online Course Brochure. This can be done at any time of the year. However, applications received between 1 October 2010 and 30 September, 2011 will apply to entry for 2012.
- Complete and submit the Bachelor of Veterinary Science Questionnaire to the School of Animal & Veterinary Sciences. Email completed application to vetselections@csu.edu.au.
- Questionnaires will only be accepted between 1 August and close 30 September each year. NO late entries will be accepted. The formal application must have been received prior to 30 September.
- If your questionnaire is favourably reviewed, you may be required to attend an interview either in person at Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga or via video or web link. The interview will occur in mid November.
