Scholarships

Scholarships are available for postgraduate and undergraduate students in the School, thanks to the generosity of our many supporters. A number of industry–sponsored prizes are awarded to students who excel in their studies.

Postgraduate Scholarships

Full time Australian Postgraduate awards and CSU Postgraduate Scholarships are awarded at the end of each calendar year. Information about these are obtained from the University's Centre for Research and Graduate Training. These scholarship are awarded on a competitive basis and provide a stipend and operating funds to support the research project. Scholarships are also available through the E.H. Graham Centre for Agricultural Innovation

For part time students the University and Faculty of Science may offer a limited number of fee–free positions to well qualified and supported students who wish to enrol part time. Contact the School Coordinator for higher degrees by research.

Cooperative Research Centres and Industry Research and Development Organisations provide grants to staff which often include student scholarships. These are advertised in Australian national newspapers when they become available

Prizes

John and Dilys Howell Memorial Prize

Criteria:  awarded to the student undertaking the Graduate Certificate in Captive Vertebrate Management course through the School of Agriculture with the best results in the first session subjects (BIO440 and BIO441).

Award: The prize will have a value of $250 and be in the form of a donor cheque and inscribed certificate issued by the University.

Redgate Poll Hereford Prize in Animal Production and Genetics

Criteria: awarded to the best combined results in VSC110 Animal Production and ASC221 Principles of Genetics.

Award: Textbooks to the value of $250–$300 and inscribed University certificate
