Glenys has a PhD in Equine Studies, graduating from Charles Sturt University in 2002. Her PhD research centred on developing a forensic (dope) test for synthetic growth hormone given to racehorses. The project was jointly funded by The Australian Racing Board & CSU. During her PhD she worked in Newmarket UK with the Horseracing Forensic Laboratories (HFL) and the Jockey Club of Southern Africa in Johannesburg, South Africa. Her particular interests are training and conditioning performance horses, the influence of nutrition on health and performance and continues her work with the racing authorities investigating the excretion rates of common therapeutic drugs.
