Kym is a registered sheep veterinary specialist. He worked in mixed practice and sheep consultancy practice for 19 years and has taught at Veterinary Schools in Sydney (10 years) and London (3 years). His research interests include ovine footrot, internal parasites and ovine Johne’s disease. His teaching and professional interests include whole farm production systems and the integration of veterinary services and health management with farm management. His post-graduate qualifications include epidemiology, quantitative genetics and economic and financial management. As well as overall responsibility for the veterinary program, Kym co-ordinates the first year subject Animal Production and will teach into a number of other production-oriented and farm-animal clinical subjects in the course.
