The School of Agricultural and Wine Sciences was formed at the beginning of 2008 by bringing together staff from the School of Agricultural & Veterinary Sciences, the School of Wine & Food Sciences and the School of Rural Management. As one of the largest and most successful providers of agricultural, horticultural and wine science education supporting rural industries in Australia, we are entering an exciting phase of rapid development and growth with our involvement in Key Research Centres such as the E.H. Graham Centre for Agricultural Innovation (an alliance between Charles Sturt University and the NSW Department of Primary Industries); the CSU Institute for Land Water and Society and the National Wine & Grape Industry Centre. Our teaching and research strengths include: agronomy, horticulture, land management, plant biotechnology, crop protection, soil management, irrigation and water management, chemistry, wine science and viticulture, and agribusiness and equine management. Our strong reputation is due to our close links with industry, our innovative courses of study, our excellent facilities, and our graduates who have skills and knowledge that industry demands.
Our School fosters and maintains strong links with regional industries and government to ensure our courses remain relevant and topical. This way we know that we are developing skills that employers value and producing graduates who will make an impact within their profession. Because of our close association with industry and business, we are able to offer a number of scholarships.
I have much pleasure in welcoming you to explore our School further, both through this web site and in person by visiting our campuses.
