Farm Business and Farming Systems Management

What is AFBM Journal?

AFBM Journal is a publication of the AFBMNetwork. It offers a publication venue for scientists working in the professional areas of farm business management and the related areas of agricultural technology and farming systems. AFBM Journal is published online free of charge for AFBMNetwork members. Hard-copy issues have a cost of A$100 per four issues.

AFBM Journal will operate with an original integrative multidisciplinary organisation, covering most of the areas of interest to farm business, farming systems and agricultural technology management professionals:

  • livestock and cropping systems
  • farming applied ecology and environmental management systems
  • farm economics and financial issues of farming
  • global perspectives of farming
  • management and decision making on farming
  • human and/or social issues of farmers and farming communities
  • sustainable farming systems.

Leading researchers will act as scientific editors and co-ordinators of each of these areas of interest and will schedule the publication of specialised Journal issues from each group during the year. Each scientific editor is supported by a panel of referees selected from leading professionals in the different disciplinary areas of the Journal.

The organisations supporting AFBM Journal are Charles Sturt University, School of Rural Management; Curtin University of Technology, Muresk institute; The University of Melbourne, Institute of Land and Food Resources; Massey University, College of Sciences; and Marcus Oldham College.

What is the Character of AFBM Journal?

AFBM Journal is a refereed publication of the AFBMNetwork and registered in the Register of Refereed Journals of the Commonwealth Department of Education Science and Training (DEST), Higher Education Research Data Collection (HERDC)

AFBM Journal has a panel of Scientific Editors co-ordinated by an administrative and scientific Executive Editor. Each editor co-ordinates a selected panel of Referees. There is a selected group of Assistant Editors.

AFBM Journal is published at intervals during the year. Each Scientific Editor is expected to publish at least one edition of the Journal from his/her specific professional group.

Who Can Publish in AFBM Journal?

AFBM Journal is for members of the AFBMNetwork and a wider scientific audience. Anyone intending to publish a paper in AFBM Journal should initially apply for membership of the AFBMNetwork clicking here for gaining access to the Membership Form or by emailing afbmnetworkexecutive@listserv.csu.edu.au.

The decision to publish a paper rests in the hands of at least two (2) referees and one Journal Editor.

To submit a paper for publication please send an electronic copy of your paper, edited as per Instructions to Authors, to the Executive Editor through the following email address: afbmjournal@listserv.csu.edu.au

Who Can Access AFBM Journal?

AFBM Journal is a free-access journal for members of the AFBMNetwork and a wider scientific audience. Printed copies of the journal are available free of charge for teaching and research organisations contacting the Executive Editor (afbmjournal@listserv.csu.edu.au) . Private persons may obtain a paid subscription for the printed issues of the journal at A$100 for four issues contacting the Executive Editor.
