"The CSU Equine Course ran in the easter holidays was much more than I had
expected.  I wanted to learn more about my horse and that was certainly the
case. The facilities at the centre were excellent especially the indoor
arena with all its equipment .  Not only did I receive expert riding
instruction which highlighted some riding problems I needed to correct to
get my horse working better, I also learnt a lot about my horse's health
and nutrition.  The days were filled with riding tuition up to four hours
per day in two sessions as well as classroom lessons and practical ground
lessons like floating, working with a young horse and lunging. All these
aspects of owning a horse I thought I knew but that was certainly not the
case, a lot of important aspects were discussed with the group about the
safest way to undertake these tasks and this was demonstrated.  Everyone at
the camp was so helpful and I made many new friends in those four days.
The course gave me so much confidence to take my horsemanship to the next
level and I have been promoting it to my friends at ponyclub.  For those
people not based in orange the uni accommodation was great with everything
that we needed and the horses were comfortable and safe in their yards and
open stables, so the course offers the complete package.  For me the course
made me think that maybe one day I might look at a career in the equine
industry.  But for now it was the most informative course I have ever
attended and I look forward to attending another.

"I chose the course because I wanted to combine business studies with the opportunity to develop my knowledge and experience with the horse industry. My plan was to become an equine business consultant, specialising in the performance horse sector. As the course progressed, we were exposed to many different enterprises and this constantly expanded my ideas about careers and employment potential throughout equine industries.

I liked the variety and content of subjects and the balance between business, management and specialised equine areas. I was also able to keep my own horse on the campus, which enabled me continue with my horse's education and my training. "

"I decided to do the CSU Equine Business Management Course because it offered various skills that would benefit my chosen career. Now, as an assistant veterinary nurse on a major thoroughbred stud, there is not a day in my job where I do not use the skills I developed during my course. I believe my degree has had a huge influence on where I am today and I recommend the EBM course to anyone wishing to gain a well–rounded degree with a focus on the equine industry"."
