Wadin Valley Estate is a boutique winery situated in Lovedale, Lower Hunter Valley. We specialise in the production of small quantities of premium wine, focussing on Semillon, Chardonnay and Shiraz.
We are seeking a "Greenhorn" Cellar Hand for the 2010 vintage. An ideal wedge during university holidays, the position will commence Jan 11 and run until around March 12.
You will be involved in all aspects of the winemaking process; cleaning, crushing, sampling, additions, racking, etc. Some experience preferred, but not essential.

Vintage Position - Position would involve:-
Collection of grower samples for analysis and/or MRL sampling.
Vineyard inspections
Block assessments / classifications
Weighbridge operations/ support
Logistics ( intake)
Dispatch of QA / MRL samples along with managing paper work
Forklift operations at crusher
Data entry & Collection of trial data
Leading Hand - Expectations would be to have several years experience in
vineyard operations at a practical level.
Tertiary qualifications or in the process of. Support would be provided whilst completing study. Position would involve:-
Working as an understudy to Assistant manager whilst being involved with all aspects of vineyard operations.
Tractor operations (fungicide, herbicide application, slashing, harvest etc)
Irrigation supervision, operation/ implementation, maintenance and repairs.
Pest and disease monitoring and phenology inspections.
Staff supervision at high contract labour periods (pruning and de-suckering)
Data entry as required
Being involved with R&D work (implementation, assessment and recording)
Promote and uphold organisational procedures, policies and values
Liaise with management regarding operational efficiencies
Implement daily activities in conjunction with assistant manager
