The Honours year primarily involves conducting a major research project on a specific topic. It also includes a literature review and either a research methods or statistics subject. An Honours degree normally takes four years: three for the base degree, and a fourth year for Honours. Honours takes one year of full–time study or two years part–time study and can begin at the start of the year or mid–year. The Bachelor of Environmental Science and Management includes an Integrated Honours Option.
All Masters degrees offered by the School of Environmental Science are 18 months in duration full time or 3 years part time. All courses are available by Distance Education. Exit points at the Graduate Certificate and Graduate Diploma level are available after 6 months and one year (full time equivalent) respectively.
The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and Master of Philosophy (MPhil) are research degrees that aim to develop understanding, skills and attitudes necessary for conduct of individual, independent research that makes a substantial and unique contribution to knowledge in the selected field.
