Dr. Asghar started his professional career in 1989 as a Research Assistant with the Netherlands Research Assistant Project (NRAP), Lahore, Pakistan. From 1997 till 2004, he worked with International Water Management Institute (IWMI) Pakistan, Lahore. Since 2004, he has been working with CSU International Centre for WATER Wagga Wagga, Australia. His areas of interest include root zone salinity management, socio–economics of groundwater extractions, soil–water–plant–environment interactions, impact evaluations of irrigation methods and practices, and surface–groundwater interaction modeling.
