Andrew is a spatial scientist with a research background in precision viticulture and climatology.
Andrew’s research career began in the field of climate variability and water storage modelling at the
University of Otago.  In 2000, Andrew took a role as a PhD student in a project with the CRC for Viticulture on the application of remote sensing technologies in viticulture. After completing his PhD, he lectured in climatology, GIS and remote sensing for four years at Charles Sturt University before becoming a research fellow at the National Wine and Grape Industry Centre. Current research themes are: the effects of past and future climate on winegrape production, and using precision viticulture technologies to improve winegrape yield forecasting.
