Ben Wilson is the Head of the School of Environmental Sciences. Since completing his PhD in 1996 at the University of New South Wales on Acid Sulfate Soils in the Tweed Valley, he worked for the University of Adelaide and the Cooperative Research Centre for Soil and Land Management before arriving at Charles Sturt University in 1997. He held the position of Sub Dean Learning and Teaching for the Faculty of Science and is currently Chair of the American Soil Quality Working Group.
