Yalmambirra is a Wiradjuri man; an Elder of the Wiradjuri peoples. He is the Koorie Academic at Charles Sturt University’s Thurgoona Campus. Yalmambirra has a degree in Parks, Recreation and Heritage and an Honours Degree (Class 1). Currently undertaking a PhD, Yalmambirra teaches Indigenous Studies; Principles of Indigenous Land Management; and Indigenous Australian Education Studies.

Interests
Yalmambirra has many interests. His major interest is his people and culture. Yalmambirra plays golf, loves to kayak, is trying to learn how to ski (and has the bruises to prove it!), good food and great wines.
