My academic background is in international development, I originally studied to become an aid worker. I worked in China as an English teacher for one year before returning to Australia to take up a job with CSIRO’s Land and Water Division as a research assistant. My research interests include the broad topic of sustainability and sustainable development. My Honours thesis looked at integrating ecological conservation with economic development and traditional ecological knowledge, focusing on the conflicting priorities between environment and development (economy). My proposed thesis will look at the conflicting priorities of environment and society.
