My research project examines whether the process of triple bottom line (TBL) reporting can help organisations reflect on their impacts on society and what they can do to advance progress towards a sustainable future for society. It involves case study research with an irrigation company engaged in TBL reporting. Criteria upon which to evaluate TBL reporting processes are being identified from a review of other case studies documented in the literature. I am interested in how staff and the public are engaged, the learning and capacity building that evolves, and whether this can lead to practical changes that enhance sustainability.
