My research interests include the management of agricultural land for biodiversity conservation and in particular working with landholders to improve the effectiveness of conservation programs. My current PhD research is looking at these issues by working on the habitat requirements of Bush Stone–curlews in agricultural landscapes. Bush Stone–curlews have declined significantly in southern Australia in recent decades and little is known about what is causing this decline. Information on curlew habitat requirements obtained from my research will be used to develop management guidelines to assist private landholders in effectively conserving and improving curlew habitat on their properties.

Thesis topic

Conservation of Bush Stone–curlews in agricultural landscapes.
