Yalmambirra is a Wiradjuri man. Having left school at age eleven, he entered Charles Sturt University at age forty–five. Yalmambirra now lectures at CSU in subjects that are Indigenous related. Yalmambirra's main research interest is focussed on Wiradjuri and by association, other Indigenous peoples.
