The Faculty of Science (FSc) Technical Services Centre provides an interface into the technical services available for those staff, students and researchers working and studying within the diverse science facilities of Charles Sturt University (CSU).

CSU OHS Policy states that CSU shall provide each employee with a safe and healthy place in which to work. The University will ensure that safe plant, machinery and equipment are provided for all staff and that safe and healthy work practices are employed. The Technical Services Centre facilitates this by providing relevant safety, technical, ethical and compliance information.

A collaborative approach to providing a safer work environment is managed thorough a Technical Steering Committee comprised of staff Technical Officers. This committee has three geographic area committees reporting to it:

  • Southern Technical Committee - Albury-Wodonga campus
  • Central Technical Committee - Wagga Wagga campus
  • Northern Technical Committee - Bathurst, Orange and Dubbo campuses

The FSc runs a comprehensive laboratory store to cater for most laboratory requirements. The purchase of all chemicals destined for use at the university must be done through the Laboratory Store.
