Orientation Week, academic life, student support and overseas opportunities are just some of the things you can find out about in this section!
O Week is a fun and informative week full of activities to help your child feel at home within the University.
Your child will be able to check out CSU campus facilities, talk to lecturers, meet other students, tour the learning commons and the library, pick up their Student ID card, and attend workshops and information sessions, ensuring their transition to university is a positive experience.
Social activities during O Week include trivia nights, karaoke, indoor and outdoor parties and dances, music and movies and much more.
At CSU, class sizes are relatively small and students enjoy close interactions with lecturers and their classmates.
Your child will be expected to be independent, responsible for their own learning, getting assignments in on time and, if they live away from home, managing their own lives.
When studying on campus at CSU, your child will have lectures, tutorials and access to our unique online learning support. Depending on the course, assessment tasks will include essays, exams, presentations and practical activities such as workshops, fieldwork and placements in the workforce.
The full-time study load is four subjects per semester, which equates to around 16 to 18 face-to-face hours each week. Remember that they will also need to complete readings, work toward assignments and exams, so that will add to their study' time.
Student Support provides programs in the areas of artistic, social, recreational and cultural activities, plus assistance with academic appeals, short term loans, legal services and organising student training in relevant areas.
As a lifestyle focused university, our students' health and wellbeing is very important. From medical services to social activities, CSU has every aspect of your child's health and wellbeing covered.
Indigenous Support Services provide academic, personal and cultural support for Indigenous students and the Centre for Indigenous Studies has a charter that includes responsibility for the promotion of teaching and learning of Indigenous education at CSU.
CSU's international exchange program, CSU Global offers students an opportunity to study overseas and gain credit towards their degree. Full-time on campus or distance education students can study at selected overseas universities for one or two sessions without paying extra tuition fees.
