Charles Sturt University (CSU) provides the university component of the pre-entry tests for the IPP and the SOPP. The pre-entry tests are conducted by Dr Valerie Ingham, Australian Graduate School of Policing & Security.
Inspectors' Promotional Program pre-entry test
The CSU pre-entry test for the Inspectors' Promotional Program (IPP) is based on demonstrating your ability to study at post graduate level, as successful candidates will be expected to complete post graduate level subjects at CSU.
The overarching theme of the university component is leadership and management, however it will not test your knowledge of management theories. Rather, it will test your ability to summarise a text, critically analyse the ideas presented, comment in relation to your own experience, and your ability to adapt and apply the ideas to the FRNSW context. Further information is available here.
Station Officers' Promotional Program pre-entry test
The CSU part of the Pre-entry Test for the Station Officers’ Promotional Program (SOPP) examines your ability to describe, explain and reflect on your own experience in relation to leadership and management. Please click here for further information.
