Studying Engineering at CSU

CSU Engineering gives you so much more than the ability to be an engineer. Working as a Student Engineer while you complete your undergraduate and postgraduate studies means you will have the chance to take on greater responsibility and be challenged. Our innovative curriculum combined with the latest technology and state-of-the-art facilities will allow our Student Engineers to gain valuable industry experience from the start.

CSU Engineering will give you opportunities to develop your skills and explore new ways of doing things in the engineering profession. You will learn as a part of diverse, dedicated community of Student Engineers, building knowledge and expertise in areas like communication, entrepreneurship and innovation. Our engineering program is designed to meet industry’s demand for entrepreneurial engineers who can make a difference in their communities, so when you graduate, you’ll be ready to tackle industry head on.

Entrepreneurial graduates

As the only Australian Engineering program hosted within a business faculty, we are able to bring together technical excellence with communications, financial and management skills that will enhance our graduates’ ability to make a difference as leaders in the workplace and society.

Practical experience

The program will offer a Masters level qualification, over a 5.5-year period, with your first 18 months of study based in our custom built, state-of-the-art facilities at CSU in Bathurst. Then you’ll join your industry as a paid Student Engineer, completing four, year-long placements while finishing your study online.

Innovative curriculum

CSU Engineering has been developed in collaboration with industry and engineering education experts from around the world, allowing us to be at the leading edge of learning and teaching. Our program incorporates the latest education technology to meet your current and future needs, ensuring that what you are learning will be relevant in your career.

A diverse cohort

At CSU, we are committed to developing a diverse cohort of students, dispelling any ‘typical engineer’ stereotype. The boutique nature of our programs allows us to ensure that female, non-school leaver, first in family, Indigenous and regional students are well represented among our Student Engineers.

A head-start on Chartered status

CSU Engineering includes undergraduate and postgraduate study and industry experience, giving you much more than the minimum requirements to become an engineer. This means you will have opportunities to accelerate your progress towards acquiring competencies of a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) prior to graduation, which can help fast-track you towards Chartered status.

Community

Supporting CSU Engineering

At CSU, we know our communities are just as passionate about building the future of tertiary education in regional Australia as we are. Our Student Engineers will live and work in the community while studying, meaning they will have the opportunity to develop strong ties, form industry relationships and be challenged to think outside the engineering box.

We are committed to developing a diverse cohort of engineers and are developing a range of scholarships to support the participation of students from all backgrounds including first in family, non-school leaver, Indigenous and regional students. Through the generosity of donors, CSU Engineering is able to improve the outcomes of students and the accessibility of our program.

You can directly support our engineering program through CSUGive, with every contribution helping us build a wider cohort of students ready to explore new ways of doing things.
