Euan Lindsay

Foundation Professor of Engineering

Professor Euan Lindsay brings immense experience and passion for engineering to the establishment of CSU's Bachelor of Technology / Master of Engineering (Civil Systems). Euan's background is in mechatronic engineering, and he completed a PhD in Engineering Education, exploring how students learned while controlling equipment remotely via the internet.

During his academic career, Euan has held senior roles as Program Leader and Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor within the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Curtin University, and Dean of the School of Engineering and Technology at Central Queensland University, before joining CSU as the Foundation Professor of Engineering. He has also been a visiting scholar at Virginia Tech. A member of a number of professional associations, Euan has also co-authored two book chapters and written or co-authored numerous journal articles.

Euan believes most major challenges facing society today can be solved by engineers, including providing clean drinking water, energy sustainability or communications technology to keep people connected. He is excited about helping CSU build a new engineering program with a focus on making a difference, not just solving problems and making things, and hopes to inspire students to move forward in their careers with passion.

Shara Cameron

Engineer in Residence

Since studying civil engineering, Shara Cameron has spent 11 years living and working in Central West NSW. Shara specialises in water engineering and has brought her experience in flood studies, stormwater harvesting and reuse schemes, catchment and channel modelling, water balance assessments, hydraulic structures and subdivision design to projects for government and private clients.

She chose to pursue a career in engineering because of its ability to solve practical problems and produce results, and is looking forward to helping CSU students develop into confident engineers through their placements. Shara believes the hands-on focus of the course means students will already be well into their careers when they graduate, and have a positive impact on regional Australia.

Andrea Goncher

Lecturer in Engineering

Andrea Goncher's passion for engineering lies in the ability to combine technical problem-solving with making a tangible difference to society. With a background in both engineering and education, Andrea has completed a PhD through Virginia Tech in Engineering Education and has a background in industrial engineering.

As a Lecturer in Engineering at CSU, Andrea is looking forward to sharing the benefits of an innovative engineering program with students, and excited about the strong connections CSU Engineering will have with industry. She will encourage students to be engaged engineers and citizens be facilitating them to think about problems holistically, learn from failed experiences, and develop strategies to reframe and tackle problems. Away from CSU, Andrea enjoys kayaking and horse riding, and is enjoying the outdoor activities in the Bathurst region.

Miao Li

Lecturer in Civil Engineering

Dr Miao Li's passion for engineering started as a little girl, following her dad as he built things as small as tables and chairs, and as big as residential buildings and ships. From there, her passion for engineering grew. Her tertiary and postgraduate education have also cultivated her passion in engineering to a more profound level. Dr Li is keen to demonstrate to students that the essence of engineering lies in creativity and innovative thinking.

Dr Li joins CSU after studying undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in geotechnical engineering in China and completing a PhD in coastal structural engineering through Griffith University in Australia, as well as conducting research, sessional teaching and thesis supervision.

Dr Li is excited about the unique nature of CSU Engineering, combining problem-focused topic teaching and four years of industry placement, which will enable students to get involved in engineering practice before they graduate. She is looking forward to giving back to the engineering community through teaching at CSU.
