Maths Tutoring
Tutoring in maths, science and statistics is available on a one-to-one basis and in small groups at no cost to students.
Tutors can assist students to:
· understand basic mathematical and statistical concepts and notation;
· master statistical reasoning;
· use a calculator efficiently.

International Student Support

Student Equity and Disabilities Support
The CSU Equity program aims to increase access to and participation in all aspects of University life by students who have experienced educational disadvantages.
The priority groups at CSU are:
· students with special needs (disabilities);
· those from rural and especially rurally isolated areas;
· those of low social-economic background;
· students of non-English speaking background;
· women studying in non-traditional areas;
· students of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Island descent.

Student Loans
The Student Loan Scheme provides assistance to full time, and in special circumstances, to part time and external students.
Loans may be granted to assist with:
· Accommodation;
· Text Books;
· Living Expenses;
· Fares - emergency travel;
· Course Requirements - art supplies, etc.
Short term loans of up to $500 may be granted to full time students for a period of up to three months interest free. Longer term loans may be granted in special circumstances. Details of the Scheme are available from Student Services. Telephone (060) 41 8942.
Accommodation Assistance
The University operates the Tertiary Students Accommodation Register to assist students looking for accommodation and to assist those people and agencies in the community offering accommodation.
Through joint advertising and publicity with other tertiary institutions in Albury-Wodonga, offers of board (Homestay) and rental accommodation are sought and compiled into a Central Register.
The register can then be accessed by Charles Sturt University-Albury students either by;
· Visiting the campus where a current listing will be on display or;
· For those students not within commuting distance of Albury-Wodonga, a telephone call to the Acommodation Officer on (060) 41 8942 and supplying your name and address details, will result in a booklet being sent with information about procedures for applying for accommodation assistance.
In addition to assistance in finding Homestay and general rental accommodation, the University also has access to a limited number of shared houses/unit places through leased property agreements with several private accommodation providers.
Information Service
Student Services offers a range of information on health, community resources and services, tenancy advice, Austudy, transport, occupations and career options, Commonwealth Department benefits and pensions, study techniques, job applications and resume writing, interview skills. This information is on display and is available directly from Student Services.
The Centre caters for the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students studying at Albury-Wodonga. Aboriginal staff include the Coordinator and Administrative Assistant. An Academic Tutor is also available at the Centre.
Services provided include:
· computer facilities;
· tutorial/study room;
· academic tutorial assistance;
· students common room;
· personal, emotional, counselling and financial referral;
· assistance with applications for admissions and course information;
· assistance to distance education students, particularly the Park Management students.
The Koori Admissions Program (KAP) is a week long assessment program which is usually run once a year at a
CSU campus for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander mature age students and HSC leavers.
The University conducts the Aboriginal Distance Education Preparatory Training Program (ADEPT) at Mitchell Campus, a bridging course for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders who wish to gain entry to formal courses at CSU. The program is a session long, distance education course for university preparation.

This Student Association aims to provide its members with a level of service that only a small institution can offer. The Association offers Band Nights, Comedy Nights, Sports Clubs, a Film Club, a Musical Group, Scholarships, Uni Clothing, Photocopy and Fax Service, Alumni Products, Graduation Ball and much more.
The Association consists of a committee of Elected Students who
draw up policies based
on information from all students. The Association aims to provide
students with assistance and resources to ensure that every student
has the best possible chance of success (and enjoy their time
at Charles Sturt University!).
