Unless indicated to the contrary all award and prize winners receive a certificate from the University in addition to a cheque for the value of the award or prize or in addition to some other benefit conferred by the award or prize. The value of an award or prize may change without notice.
All awards and prizes are presented annually although a particular award or prize may be withheld in a particular year if there is no candidate worthy of the award or prize or if it is not funded for that year. Unless indicated to the contrary students do not have to apply to be considered for an award or prize.
Awards and prizes won by graduating students are normally presented at graduation ceremonies; and those won by continuing students are normally presented at a ceremony held on the relevant campus. However, some professional bodies may wish to present their award or prize at their own function.

Australian Psychological Society Prize
Criteria: awarded to the graduand in either an honours year in
psychology or in the Graduate Diploma of Counselling course with the most
distinguished record.

Outstanding Thesis Prize
Criteria: awarded to the graduand in a Faculty of Education postgraduate
research program who
has an outstanding record in scholarship and research.
Award: $150

Industrial Relations Society of NSW Prize
Criteria: awarded to the most outstanding graduand in the Graduate
Certificate in Business (Industrial Relations) course.
Award: $200.

Central Western Branch of Australian Federation of University Women of NSW Prize
Criteria: awarded to the most meritorious woman graduand in the
Central Western District of NSW who is enrolled at the Bathurst campus.

CSU - Mitchell Graduates Association Community Achievement Award
Criteria: awarded to the graduand enrolled at the Bathurst campus
who makes the most significant contribution to or affects the greatest
change in the quality of life in a community.
Award: as determined by the award committee.
Towers Prize
Criteria: awarded to a full-time student residing in the Bathurst
on-campus residences who has demonstrated outstanding commitment to academic
studies and to the residential community.

Illawarra Mercury Journalism Prize
Criteria: awarded to the most outstanding print journalism student
in the School of Communication.

Australian Human Resources Institute Prize for Outstanding Achievement in the Study of Human Resources Management
Criteria: awarded to the graduand in the Graduate Certificate
in Human Resource Management course with the best results in the HRM specialisation
undertaken through the School of Marketing and Management.

National Australia Bank Prize
Criteria: awarded to the student with the best results in the discipline
of economics undertaken through the School of Marketing and Management
apart from the subject ECO100 Macroeconomics.

Criteria: awarded to the student with the best result in a marketing
subject undertaken through the School of Marketing and Management.

Criteria: awarded to a graduand in the Bachelor of Social Science
(Recreation and Human Movement) course or the Graduate Diploma of Education

strand who contributes most to the profession through activities that enhance
the reputation of the course.
Award: annual subscription to ACHPER
Awards and Prizes Wagga Wagga Campus
School of Education
Australian College of Education Prize
Criteria: awarded to the two most outstanding graduates in each
of the Bachelor of Education (Primary), and Graduate Diploma of Education
(Secondary) courses.
Award: one year associate membership to the Australian College of
Education.
CSU-TAFE Elizabeth Anne Bailey Memorial Award
Criteria: submission by a student of the School of Education
at the Wagga Wagga campus, and/or any member of the literacy education
staff, of a single substantial piece of assignment work associated with
the field of literacy/language education and seen to have an impact on
the needs of adult learners. The guiding principle of the award is the
recognition and encouragement of quality work in a field of endeavour which
reflects and celebrates the life and educational work of Elizabeth Anne
Bailey.
Award: a cheque to the value of the interest made on the trust account.
School of Management
Australian Human Resource Institute Prize for Excellence in the Study of Human Resource Management
Criteria: awarded to the most outstanding graduand in the Master
of Human Resource Management or the Bachelor of Business (Human Resource
Management) courses.
Award: $250. The winner will be a candidate for the major award
the AHRI Prize for Outstanding Achievement in the study of Human Resource
Management, for which they will receive a prize to the value of $100, a
personalised certificate, a medallion, honorary membership of AHRI at the
appropriate level for one year, and complimentary attendance at the regional
annual dinner.
