All students undertaking research as part of their coursework must consult with their research supervisor to ensure that they comply with the University Code of Conduct for Research.
Students should check subject availability and prerequisites, as not all subjects are offered each session, or in both distance education and on campus modes. Consult the Course Coordinator.

Doctor of Philosophy
PhD

The University offers a Doctor of Philosophy program to applicants who wish to undertake original and significant research in an approved area. To qualify for the award, candidates will be required to submit a thesis embodying the results of their research.

Part-time: 2 years minimum/8 years maximum

Admission criteria

To qualify for candidature applicants shall have either qualified for the award of a Masters (Honours) degree by research at an acceptable level or an appropriate Bachelor degree with class 1 or class 2 (1) Honours from an Australian University, taken over a minimum of four years (full-time equivalent), or an award accepted by the Board of Graduate Studies as equivalent, and/or have demonstrated in study and/or professional performance potential to undertake research at a Doctoral level.

Graduation requirements

To graduate, students must satisfactorily complete a thesis which is equivalent to 192 points.
