Double degree program

This double degree program is designed to produce graduates with the understanding to become successful, ethical and professionally responsible business people. The program, offered through the Faculties of Commerce and Science and Agriculture, comprises 32 subjects and normally takes four years (full-time study) to complete. It will help students become acquainted with the substance of both business and information technology so they can aspire to accept responsibility and learn to manage technical and organisational change, and opens the way to many career directions in: Accounting; Information Technology; Commerce and Industry; Business; Government, Semi-Government and Non-Profit organisations; Human Resource Management; and Marketing.

Admission criteria

Assumed knowledge is NSW HSC or equivalent 2 unit Mathematics.

Graduation requirements

To graduate, students must satisfactorily complete 256 points (32 subjects). Upon completion of the program, students graduate with two awards, the Bachelor of Business (in a specialisation) and the Bachelor of Information Technology. The student’s chosen specialisation is included in the nomenclature on the Bachelor of Business testamur.

Professional recognition

Dependent upon specialisation studies, graduates may be eligible to apply for membership to bodies such as the Institute of Personnel Management Australia, Australian Institute of Public Administration, Australian Institute of Management, and Australian Computer Society.

Course structure

Students are required to complete the core subjects in Information Technology and Business. Students choose one of the business specialisations offered in the Bachelor of Business course, and an information technology minor from those offered in the minors available in the Bachelor of Information Technology. Some specialisations and/or minors are not available on all campuses. Full details of the Bachelor of Business specialisations and information technology minors are given in the respective course entries.
