The relation between schools and the communities they serve are complex.  This subject explores the theory relating to community involvement, participation and control of schooling as it is manifested in Australia and overseas.  Within this theoretical framework schools must address the practical questions of how to maximise the effectiveness of the community’s contribution to the school and the school’s to the community
