Enrolment restriction(s): Graduate Diploma of Education (Secondary), Bachelor of Human Movement/Bachelor of Teaching (Secondary), Bachelor of Education (Secondary), Bachelor of Education (Vocational Education), Bachelor of Education (Technology and Applied Studies), Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood), Bachelor of Education (Primary) and Graduate Certificate in Languages Other Than English Teaching students only.
This subject introduces students to the pedagogy of languages other than English.  Contexts for learning language from K-12 are addressed with pathways emphasising the early (K-4) and middle (5-12) years of schooling.  An appreciation of the range of appropriate teaching/learning strategies is developed and particular attention is devoted to the skills of lesson planning, the implementation of syllabus documents and appropriate forms of assessment and evaluation.
