Enrolment restriction(s): Bachelor of Education (Primary) and Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology)/Bachelor of Teaching (Primary) students only.
Prerequisite(s): EED111 Child Development and EPT114 Primary Practicum 2
This subject is designed to give students a basic understanding of what is involved in the teaching of science and technology in the primary school.  Organisation of the subject is based on the notion of a knowledge-building community with emphasis placed on students monitoring and analysing their own learning in practical classes in light of relevant readings from the research literature.  In this respect, students will generate their own understandings of learning in science and technology classes with practical sessions and follow up discussions about implications for teaching.
